Meet the Owner

MEET THE OWNER

My wish is that all who experience Moccasin Springs,  may feel the soul of the land and hear its story resonate through your own spirit, as I have. May the waters, the nature, the magical dragonflies and hummingbirds whisper renewal and regeneration through every cell of your body.

MEET THE OWNER - KARA HAGEN

I have worked in Property Management for over 34+ years, have a real estate background and have managed, developed and renovated properties.

What I do is something I think I was inspired to do from around age 11, when my Dad took notice of my garage re-organizing skills and my Mom encouraged my desire to rearrange furniture and redecorate the house. Often.  My first memory that captivated my interest was of an old bank on Main Street where I grew up (Mitchell, SD) and I was enamored with the marble, the woodwork. That feeling continued, everywhere I went. Even if it was within a magazine, design ideas held a spark within my heart.

That feeling never went away. Bringing an old property back to life means something to me. Each property has a story, a soul. It feels like a relationship you build and there are a whole lot of lessons in store through your process. You are not just revitalizing the building, it takes hold of your heart and becomes your process and ultimately means more than just another project.  The people you work with become your inspiration, some inspiration never goes away.

There have been so very many synchronicities that have come together for this project to happen.  I first set eyes on the property in 2002.  For a short time I co-owned the property.  It had been 11 years, since then,  when I overlooked the land from a fix up I was just about to make an offer on.  Sometimes there is an energy that just resonates. With people, with places, that never goes away.  When I overlooked the porch of the fix up property toward Moccasin Springs, I knew I was in trouble then;)

I’m grateful for the connection I have to Moccasin Springs, that I heard the calling and was supported in my efforts. I’m grateful that my stubborn desire to transform this beautiful property, rich in History, never went away. As it turns out, it has been a culmination of my life work, lessons and love.
Worth every minute.

Blessings~Kara
